Directed by Anjali Menon, a romance comedy and the first movie by Nithya Menen, Bangalore Days tells the story of three cousins from Kerala - Pranay (Dulquer Salmaan), Karthik (Nivin Pauly) and Rajeev (Fahadh Faasil) - who move to Bangalore to pursue their careers in the film industry. It is a coming-of-age film that reflects the lives and the dreams of three young men of different generations in south India, who are driven by their ambitions and desires and have come to a city like Bangalore to lead independent lives. These ambitions and dreams include pursuing an independent career, building a prosperous life for themselves, their families and friends, and leading a happy married life.
The characters are according to a university student, a college student and an IAS officer from Kerala. The former two friends are college-going and exchange families frequently, while the last one is married to a woman from Bangalore. The former two live with their families in Bangalore, while the last moves in with his girlfriend and her family. Because of these differences, the three find themselves in different kinds of situations. This creates a rich framework for the relationships between the three main characters.
Indian Dramas Usually Happen in 2 Parts: 1. Story & 2. Backstory. The first part deals with the entertainment & the latter with the story & the people behind it. And since the first few minutes made a good couple of impressions on me, I was ready to continue with the slightly more obscure second lesson. Especially since the plot is a fairly long one. It begins quite abruptly with the isolated nameless hero of the film Vijay, already an adult, experiencing the desire to get to know someone.
